Chart of Sabbatical Years
from Isaac to End of Seven Years Famine in Egypt
by W. Glenn Moore
This chart is based upon the Scriptural account of chronological ages and dates from the time of Isaac's birth to the end of the seven years famine in Egypt, which covers exactly 4 Jubilee cycles. If Sabbatical cycles are also in evidence here, then it is convincing proof that the Jubilee and Sabbatical system introduced to Israel at the time of Moses predates the Exodus.
Dates given in blue are in reference to the Creation Date.
Dates below them in black are comparable dates to the dates above them, and reference standard BCE and CE dating within a fall to fall calendar.
Numbers counting from 1-60 in bold maroon represent the lifespan of Isaac before having Jacob. The numbers counting from 1-130 in bold red represent the lifespan of Jacob from his birth to the 2nd year of the famine in Egypt.
Dates given in Bold Purple are significant dates related to the works of the patriarchs, such as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Bold Black or Blue dates are projected Sabbatical year dates.
Light Green Highlighting is for ease of reading, to keep comparable data together.
Please note that in another similar chart regarding the Talmudic formula to find Sabbatical years, these dates are also in perfect alignment with that same chart. The only difference is that we will not be using the Seleucid Era dating as the primary date, but instead CD dating, which is a dating system used by this author to establish the Creation Date.

Seven years of famine ends in a Sabbatical year just prior to a Jubilee year.
2255 1731 The Year following the 7 years famine in Egypt is clearly a year of Jubilee, when the chronology is correctly aligned with the Biblical accounts, as we have done here. We are able to assign an actual BCE date to these dates because we are able to determine the year of Jubilee through the 457 BCE start of the 70 week prophecy of Daniel 9. We are able to determine other known historical Sabbatical years and assign BCE dates to them as they also line up with the Talmudic Formula examined in the Sabbatical chart.
Documentation for the following key is provided throughout this website, and in the Excel spreadsheet file The Jubilee Calendar:
‡2058 CD (1928/1927 BCE) is the year Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed, one year prior to the birth of Isaac. It is a Sabbatical year just prior to a year of Jubilee. (Genesis 17:24; 18:20-21; 19:24)
^2059 CD (1927/1926 BCE) Is the year Isaac was born (Genesis 21:5 / 25:7).
¤2119 CD (1867/1866 BCE) is the year that Jacob was born, in the 60th year of Isaacs life (Genesis 25:6, 47:9).
∫2199 CD (1787/1786 BCE) is the year Jacob most likely began to serve Laban--7 years for Rachel, 7 years for Lea, and 6 years for his just pay. This CD date cannot be confirmed conclusively, however, it is accurate to within + / - one year. We can arrive at this very close estimate based upon the birth of Joseph. Scripture says that Joseph was 30 years old when he went to appear before Pharaoh (Genesis 41:46). This is at the start of the first year of plenty. We know that the 130th year of Jacob's life is the 2nd year of the famine (Genesis 40:29-30 and 47:9) which is 9 years later, so we subtract 8 years (inclusive reckoning) from the year Jacob goes into Egypt (2249 - 8 = 2241). We then subtract 30 years from the year 2241 (2241 - 30 = 2211). We know that Jacob was near the end of the second set of 7 year service when Rachel gave birth to Joseph. Soon after this (probably less than a year) the end of the second set of 7 year service was about to expire, and he asked to leave with his family. Therefore, we can subtract 5 years (inclusive) from that date (2211 - 5 = 2206) to arrive at the year of Jubilee and the first year of the marriage between Jacob and Lea and Rachel. While it is not conclusive that this took place in a year of Jubilee (there is a possible variance of about 1 year), it is, however, only natural that it would line up perfectly with the Jubilee and Sabbatical cycles.
f2206 CD (1780/1779 BCE) is the year Jacob marries both Lea and Rachel. This CD date is accurate to within + / - one year, based upon the biblical text as mentioned in the paragraph above..
§2249 CD (1737/1736 BCE) is the 2nd year of the 7 year famine, the 130th year of Jacob's (Israel's) life (Genesis 40:29-30 and 47:9), and 300 years before the exodus. It is clearly the year that he and his children came into the land of Egypt. Since the math makes that year 6 years prior to a year of Jubilee (60+130+5+1=196), it provides conclusive proof that the life of the patriarchs is clearly in sync with 7 and 49 year cycles. Of all the evidence presented on this website, this proves beyond question that: 1) Yahweh uses cycles of 7 and 49 years to establish major milestones in both secular and religious history, 2) That the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles predate the time of the Exodus, and 3) That following certain cycles of time is very important to Yahweh, such that it would be expected He will continue to do so in the future.
